What is Human resource planning

The Human Resource Planning is the process of finding the right number of people for the right kind of a job, at a right time and the right place, by forecasting the organization’s demand for and supply of human resources in the near future.

Human Resource Planning (HRP) is the process of forecasting the future human resource requirements of the organization and determining as to how the existing human resource capacity of the organization can be utilized to fulfill these requirements. It, thus, focuses on the basic economic concept of demand and supply in context to the human resource capacity of the organization.

A process of linking a firm’s human resource policies and systems with the firm’s overall strategy. In addition to the classic human resources functions, human resource planning assesses the employeesskills, functions and location and whether they match with the corporate goals. -business dictionary
